 DFE’s Monthly Book It! goals:

K – Individual classroom goals

1^st grade – 3 points

2^nd grade -6 points

3^rd grade – 9 points

4^th grade - 10 points

5^th grade – 12 points

Please make note that students must have a combination of class requirements (7 books on their grade level with a minimum 80% comprehension) and listed points goal to attend.

 For example, if a student in second grade has read only 5 required 7 books for the nine weeks, but has at least 20 AR points   for the nine weeks, he/she will not be able to attend. Both requirements must be met to participate.

Goals for nine weeks per grade level:

• 1^st grade
  • 5 pts earned   -1^st nine weeks
  • 10 pts earned – 2^nd nine weeks
  • 15 pts earned – 3^rd nine weeks
  • 15 pts earned – 4^th nine weeks
• 2^nd grade
  • 20 pts earned each nine weeks
• 3^rd grade
  • 25 pts earned each nine weeks
• 4^th grade
  • 30 pts earned each nine weeks
• 5^th grade
  • 35 pts earned each nine weeks

 ***Moonlight Madness will change to 125 points with 80% comprehension. Average book level must fall within your child’s reading range.
